Help with QRemote, QRemote Relay and the qremote Quarto extension.

Connection

Problem	What to check
The Mac is not in the iPhone’s list	QRemote Relay is running on the Mac? iPhone and Mac on the same network? iPhone › Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network › QRemote is on? Otherwise scan the code in the QRemote Relay menu with the Camera app, or type the address shown under Show addresses.
“Relay unreachable”	Same as above. Many school, university and conference Wi-Fi networks keep devices from seeing each other: put the Mac on your iPhone’s Personal Hotspot.
“No presentation open”	The presentation is open on the same Mac as QRemote Relay, and uses revealjs-plugins: [qremote]? Reload the page.
“PIN refused”	Enter the PIN shown in the QRemote Relay menu (iPhone › ⚙︎ › PIN).
The watch does not find the Mac	Choose the Mac in the iPhone app first: the watch receives its settings from the iPhone.
Chrome asks about “local network access”	Allow it: the presentation talks to QRemote Relay on this Mac.
QRemote Relay: “Port 8765 is already in use”	Another app uses that port. Quit it, then click Try again in the menu.

Apple Watch

Problem	What to check
Double tap does nothing	Double tap needs an Apple Watch Series 9, Ultra 2 or later, with watchOS 11, and QRemote on screen. The Next button works on every watch.
No buzz with the wrist down	Watch › second page › Settings › Session should say “Active”; otherwise tap Restart session. A session lasts up to one hour.
QRemote is gone when I raise my wrist	iPhone › Watch app › General › Return to Clock › QRemote › After 1 hour.

Quarto

Problem	Solution
Cannot convert undefined or null to object when rendering	The YAML header has a qremote: key with nothing under it (all options commented out). Remove the key, or keep one option.
YAML file qremote/plugin.yml not found	The folder you run quarto from contains a folder named qremote (in any case). Quarto takes it for the plugin: run quarto from another folder. Also check that _extensions/qremote is next to the presentation, or in the root of its Quarto project.
No countdown in the speaker view	Open the speaker view from the presentation (S). If the presentation was reloaded, close the speaker view and press S again.
P goes to the previous slide	The extension is not loaded: check revealjs-plugins: [qremote] and that _extensions/qremote exists.
